Karma: Energy Starts With You

To attain good Karma you must put good energy into the universe.

Do not expect to have good things and energy come your way without effort.

Making sure you take care of yourself is a very important part of this.

If you do not take care of yourself and have good energy and within yourself, what you put back into the universe will be limited.

If you take care of yourself, the good energy you put back into the universe may be limitless.

Animals Understand. Why can’t We?

Even my cats understand that water is life.

I have one cat that will literally drink water from anything…a bowl, the sink, the toilet if you let him, even the snow off your shoes. Animals understand the importance of natural resources. (My cats even cherish every box and bag made from every tree we destroy.)

We know that we are made up of mostly water, we know we need it to survive, but we forget how important it is anyways. We start to filter our water at home for freshness or we buy from fresher sources overseas where it is yet untainted and all this as we continuously destroy the resources around us, in the name of money and progress. Water is life if we destroy our water sources we destroy ourselves.

We think of karma in terms of how we treat each other. Karma is also determined by how we treat Mother Earth.

Mother Earth is precious. Water is Life.

Mental Blocks, Meditation, and Imagery.

I’ve spent the last few days trying to writing something, anything, with little results. There is this unsteadying feeling in the air and in the world at large. I feel like a Jenga tower, with some of the pieces half way pushed out, and I’m trying to suck them back in.

I’ve been pondering cognitive distance and in which, if any ways, that it might relate to me. I am trying to understand things based on what I’ve experienced and trying to interpret conflicting information that is being thrown my way.  It is exhaustive sorting it all out.

I tried to meditate myself out of my funk last night, and it was an intense experience of warm energy entwined with similar images repeating over and over again in my mind. First I was thinking about a wooden block with tar dripping off it, then a large log with the same thing happening and finally, I was imaging I was a tree with tar dripping off me and onto the ground and dissolving like acid and dispearing. Maybe it was mental attempt to remove the negative energy that keeps trying to attach itself to me. I’m still not sure.

I just hope I find a remedy to whatever it is that is troubling me and keeping me from writing serious content soon.

Off Kilter

Yesterday was a completely off-kilter, unbalanced day. I couldn’t seem to do anything without tripping myself up, there seemed to be chaos buzzing in the air. I ended up putting the Nawang Khechog station on at work to focus.

( Nawang is a wonderful  Tibetan flute player and composer.)

I know some of us will do anything to protect ourselves from chaos and negative energy. We all have our own rituals, whether  mental or  physical. (Even if it’s just that morning cup of coffee.) Personally, I love some good sage.  I love the smell of it when it burns, and it reminds me to be centered, balance and serves as a sort of psychic protection.

Does anyone else have any rituals daily of otherwise, they used to ready themselves for the day and whatever it might throw at them?

The Flag was Burning…

I dream vividly, intensely and often. This happened often in my youth than mostly stopped. The reemergence seemed to coincide with my spiritual journey, with my path to find balance and centeredness within myself. While I do have silly, weird, fantastical dreams, (like the one I had about flying superhero Benedict Cumberbatch) I also have unsettling ones and nightmares.

I’m trying to do better at writing my dreams down.

I’m trying to have more control over them, but it’s not easy.

Last night I had one that I could not shake, nor forget. I was at work, and strange men came to the front of the building, and in plain view and  burned a very large over-sized flag of the United States. They were screaming things through the glass. Things that I could not hear, yet somehow I understood. Then I woke up. I tried to fall back to sleep to finish the dream to fix things, or at least to understand them more. This did not happen.

Is this dream a manifestation of the future, my own stressors or just what happens when you read too much news before bed? I’m not sure. All I know that unlike some of the sweeter dreams I have I hope this one never comes true.

Full Moon Fever

While I am not sure about the science behind it, I know the moon at its fullest effects us. When at all possible I try to take it off of work, work less, or keep to myself as much as possible.

What I am wondering is what side effects to people experience from the full moon on themselves or others? Does it effect everyone unknowingly or just people more sensitive?

Personally, it affects my sleep pattern for several days. The three days the moon is at the fullest I find myself waking every hour or two, even when the rest of the month I sleep normally.

Also, the full moon tends to coexist with the onset of every new menstrual migraine I get. Coincidence? I don’t know.

Small Kindnesses

Many people do small kind things for friends, family members and people they know.

Many do medium and large acts of kindness for family and those they truly care about.

We often forgot, to do small acts of kindness for strangers, maybe it’s because we believe only larger acts will have an impact.  This is not true.

Small acts of kindness not only make you feel better and they are an act of self-care and good karma and they pass along a bit of kindness and good energy to something or something else as well. (Unless you go around bragging about every nice thing you do then you aren’t doing them for the right reasons, and this make have a negative impact.)

Small acts of kindness are not hard.

-Hold the door for someone even if you’re late, or the weather is bad.

-Let the person in front of you in line at the store, cut back in front of you after they forgot that one single item in the store.

Pick up litter even if it is not yours as a kindness to this home we call earth.

Leave out small makeshift shelters for stray animals or wild animals in the winter. (I see a lot of bunnies where I live.)

When you are mad at someone or something, say nice things to people you are not mad at.

Even if you are having a horrible day, find time today and every day to do and say kind things to friends, to family, to loved ones, acquaintances and yes to random strangers you may never see again. Even do it to people who are not kind to you, this is a hard one I know!

One kind act a day makes us and the world less gray. 😉

The Spiritual and Science: (Afterlife)

I was having a conversation recently with someone pertaining to the relationship between science and religion as it applies to death, more specifically what comes after. It is my personal belief that religion and science, do not have to be mutually exclusive. In fact, I find science and the continuing growth of it, actually supports my beliefs in some ways. The result of this conversation actually made me want explore all the ways science works with religion and not against it. It also, comforts me little more concerning the passing of my friends and heroes as of late. I lost a friend a couple weeks ago, and I’m just getting to really listening to Blackstar, because the death of Bowie hit me like a freight train and I could not listen to the new album for a long time. (You know/hear listening to Blackstar that he wasn’t long for this existence, and he knew it.)

I guess you are wonder how science could support an afterlife/continual existence. It comes down to one of the most basic principles in science. Science states that energy can change form but it cannot be created or destroyed. If a human being, just like everything else in the universe is made up of energy, then death is not a ceasing of being it is a transfer of energy from one place to another.

Your beliefs only dictate to you how or where that energy is transferred. If you are the type to believe in reincarnation, then maybe you believe your energy moves to another person or animal. Or perhaps your energy can be reincarnated and move anywhere perhaps into the sky, the stars, newly sprouted tree or into any part of the universe.

Perhaps when people think or believe they are experiencing past lives, they are just experiencing residual energy. Or perhaps ghosts/spirits are actually just energy that has remained stuck in one spot after passing.

Even Christianity and other Abrahamic religions if you use the word energy in place of the word spirit, you get a similar effect. They just believe their energy/spirit is moving to another place/plane. In science, it would be like your energy moving from here to another dimension. Science always poking around at the possibilities of other dimensions and dimensional travel. So again a spiritual/science possible connection.

(There are even some folks that tie religious experiences to extraterrestrial life. Which again all links back.)

I am sure there are other topics I could explore where the spiritual and science diverge, perhaps I will explore this points more in the future.

For now until next time…

Blessed Be, Star

(If anyone has any other ideas, worth exploring on this topic or on other topics you wish me to write about, feel free to comment, with a topic only and i will attempt to touch on it the future.)

Karma in thought

I frequently see the word Karma thrown around lightly. I see it mostly being used to describe how someone else will get what is coming to them. First it is better to focus on your own Karma, then that of others.

Most people see Karma, as the future result of actions and words, and how resulting choices will affect them in the future. (Also how it will affect them in future lives for those that believe in reincarnation.)

What people fail to know, fail to understand, or fail to remember depending on how much they know about the truth of Karma, is Karma is starts with what you are thinking.
Karma begins in the mind. If it is not nurtured there, your words and actions will not be as effective. If your words are kind, and your actions are kind but that thoughts are unkind, regardless of who or what you are thinking about, your Karma will not be inline.

Personally, I see Karma as energy that directly links my actions to my present and future self. It is not just an abstract idea. It is something that when cultivated correctly, will make you feel lighter and better, not just in the future but in the here and now.

Focusing on changing how we think, to affect our Karma is not always easy, and it takes practice. Yes we all will slip up at times, but we can always find our way back. I have been trying for years to be kind to people who do not always treat me kindly or fairly, but I realized real change comes when I changed my thinking as well. I know that this can be difficult, we all have down days, but it is worth it.

Just remember Karma is in word, action AND in thought, and you will find yourself in a better place.

Ps. – Currently working on tips for helping your mental Karma/Energy, when faced with negative/people things.

From Cacophony to Calm

Most of my life has been a whirl of chaos, a cacophony of sounds, a train of ideas that seldom reach their destination, and a completely lack of focus for more than short snippets of time. The process of being able to find, focus, and accept myself, seemed unattainable until the last year or so. Slowly I have begun to unlock the things that have been keys to who I am now and who I am becoming. My life keeps coming back to certain things, Karma, Energy, Creativity and Connecting with myself. This blog is an exploration of these things and about any and all experiences that might be intertwined with them.

I will note, these are my personal experiences and views, you may have things in common with me, or you may see me as mad, but if you learn something, are entertained, or for brief second have been lightened, I have done my job.
